Big Joe Forklifts closed out MODEX 2026 with a week that felt like a defining moment for our team and the dealers we serve. We unveiled two new products, celebrated our 75th anniversary with a VIP party at a beautiful venue, and shared expert insights into the future of electrification and automation. This year’s show underscored why Big Joe continues to lead with practical innovation and operator-first thinking.
One of the biggest highlights of the week was the debut of two new Big Joe products, each engineered to make day‑to‑day operations easier and more intuitive.
Both products drew steady crowds and sparked meaningful conversations about how simple, scalable solutions can transform workflows. Attendees weren’t just curious; they were excited to see equipment that solves real-world problems.
At MODEX 2026, the Advanced Energy Council hosted a panel session outlining a practical roadmap for developing and implementing an effective electrification strategy. As electrification shifts from a long-term vision to an immediate priority, warehouses, supply chains, and manufacturers are moving quickly to adapt.
The panel included insights from Big Joe CMO, Martin Boyd, Jean-Francois Marchand of Ugo Work, Lucia Salcido of Flux Power, and was moderated by Victoria Franza Kickham, Senior Editor at DC Velocity and Supply Chain Xchange.
Martin explained how electric forklifts had historically struggled to compete with their internal combustion (IC) counterparts in terms of performance and productivity. However, the recent introduction of lithium-ion battery technology into the industrial market has effectively addressed those shortcomings. While the upfront cost of lithium-ion-powered electric forklifts may be higher, the total cost of ownership can result in savings of well over 50% over the vehicle’s lifespan. As seen in the automotive industry, once operations move to an electric platform, implementing a driverless solution becomes much easier.
At Big Joe Forklifts, we take great pride in our roots. What began as a single manufacturing facility in Wisconsin Dells has grown into 75
years of hard work, resilience, and determination. MODEX 2026 offered the perfect opportunity to celebrate the people whose dedication made that journey possible. Cheers to another 75 years!
