CASE STUDY: Big Agnes
Award winning camping gear manufacturer Big Agnes, headquartered in Steamboat Springs, CO set up a new DC in Salt Lake City, Utah to consolidate several smaller warehouses and improve overall efficiency. Key elements in achieving their goals were an advanced Inventory Management system, and a J1-192 Joey. Big Agnes was able to maximize their storage footprint and cube utilization while increasing DC throughput to keep pace with continued growth. “We’ll fill 300 orders totaling over 1,000 items per day. The flexibility and size of the Joey allowed us to have narrower aisles and fit more into our space. Right now, the most valuable thing to us is that space,” said Howard Peterson, DC Manager.
